Overview
The Upload Orders via Copy and Paste from Excel utility allows you to quickly update existing order data by copying values from Excel and pasting them directly into Blastramp.
This method is commonly used to update fields such as Start Date or Cancel Date on multiple orders at once.
Required Information
Before starting, ensure you have the following information:
-
Order Number – This identifies the order being updated.
Note: The Order Number cannot be changed.
-
Blastramp ID – This is the customer identifier.
You can retrieve this from the Main Customer Profile.
Accessing the Tool
Log into https://beta.blastramp.com.
Navigate to:
Utilities → Upload Orders via Copy and Paste from Excel
Updating Existing Orders
1. Set the Action Type
Set the Action dropdown to:
Edit Existing Orders
2. Prepare Your Data
Prepare your data in Excel with the required fields.
Example columns:
| Column | Field |
|---|---|
| 1 | Order ID |
| 2 | Blastramp ID |
Copy the rows you want to update and paste them as text into the input field.
3. Configure Field Mapping
Match the pasted columns with the appropriate field numbers.
Example:
| Field | Column Number |
|---|---|
| Order ID | 1 |
| Customer Details – Blastramp ID | 2 |
If you are updating additional fields, you must add the corresponding column numbers so they match the pasted content.

4. Updating Dates
If you are updating Start Date or Cancel Date, you can simply update the Default Value field with the new date.
Testing the Update (Recommended)
Before committing the changes:
Leave the "Commit" toggle unchecked.
Click Submit.
The system will run a test validation.
Result
You will receive a server response message:
Success message – The data format is valid.
Error message – Data is incorrect or missing.
Important:
Running the test does NOT change any live order data.
Applying the Changes
Once the test is successful:
Click the Back button in your browser once.
Enable the Commit toggle.
Click Submit again.
Important:
With Commit enabled, the changes will be applied live to the orders.
Verification
After submission:
Open one or more of the affected orders.
Confirm the updated values were applied correctly.
Example verification (see below examples):
| Field | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Start Date | Old Date | New Date |
| Cancel Date | Old Date | New Date |
Best Practices
Always run a test first with Commit disabled.
Ensure Order ID and Blastramp ID match correctly.
Verify your updates after committing changes.
Only include columns that correspond to the mapped field numbers.
If errors occur during validation, review your pasted data and field mappings before committing the update.
