IMPORTANT NOTES: Before You Begin
- This tool can add data to existing customers or map a new customer database into Blastramp.
- Test with one or two customers first before making large-scale edits.
- Export your customer data to Excel and keep a backup copy before proceeding.
- If updating the Bill To column while it is toggled, ensure all fields in that column are updated.
- Refer to the provided Excel screenshot for an example.
- Important: You must always include Ship To Name, Ship To Address, and Ship To Postal/Zip Code — even if you are not changing them. These fields identify the account. Omitting them will create new accounts instead of updating existing ones.
- If unsure about what you are changing, contact help@blastramp.com and attach your Excel file with data position fields filled in (see Step 8).
1: Navigate to the Tool
Click Utilities in the main navigation.

2. Click Upload Customers via Copy and Paste from Excel.

3. Copy your rows from Excel and paste them into the text area.
⚠ Do not include column headers — paste data rows only.

4. Set Data Positioning Fields

5. For the first field (e.g. Ship To Name), type
1 — matching its column position in your Excel sheet.
6. For the next field, type 2— matching its column position in your Excel sheet., and so on.

7. Continue filling in each position field with the matching column number from your Excel document until all fields you are updating are mapped.
Example: If Ship To Name is column A (1), Ship To Address is column B (2), and Postal Code is column C (3), enter 1, 2, and 3 in the corresponding position fields.
8. Test Your Data
Make sure Commit This to Database is not toggled, then click Post Customers.
This runs a dry-run test — no changes will be saved yet.
Review the preview results to confirm the data looks correct.

9. Once successful, Commit to the Database
Click your browser's Back button to return to the upload screen.
Toggle Commit This Data to the Database to the on position.
Click Post Customers to apply the changes.

10. Verify the Changes
Copy the address element shown in the results (in this e.g. 12345 FAKE ST).

11. Click Search Text and paste the value into the search input.

12. Under the search options, select Customers, then click GO.

13. Locate the customer record in the results (e.g. Customer TEST – V4G1E0) and open it to confirm changes were applied.
